We are proud to announce the opening of our 50th Annual Local 1103 Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 1973 the local has awarded cash grants to the sons and daughters of Local 1103 Members in good standing to help enable the continuance of their education. The eight scholarships are as follows:

CWA National Union Scholarship
Sixteen partial college scholarships of $4,000 each are being offered for the 2023-2024 school year. Winners, selected in a lottery drawing, also will receive second-year scholarships of the same amount contingent upon satisfactory academic accomplishment. Part-time students, less than 12 credits, will receive half of the scholarship monies.

This is to inform you that the CWA National will be announcing the application process for the CWA Joe Beirne Foundation’s scholarship for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved the awarding of sixteen (16) partial college scholarships of $4,000 each for two years.
Earlier today, Verizon announced that management and non-union employees who report to company buildings and retail stores will be mandated to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they have a medical or religious exemption.
Verizon notified CWA of their intention to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for the unionized workforce.
