Happy Labor Day!
It’s important to remember why we celebrate Labor Day. Labor Day is a holiday created by unions and labor activists to celebrate the American worker. It’s also a holiday that proudly and unabashedly honors organized labor and its contributions to our nation.
Unions are working people coming together to build a better life.
LABOR DAY PARADE & MARCH SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7,10:00AM. If interested, call Business Agent Kevin Scrobola @ +1 (914) 954-1104 or email kscrobola@cwa1103.org. Tee shirts and light refreshments will be available for CWA Members and their families.
One longstanding tradition at CWA is wearing red on Thursdays. We do this not just to show our solidarity with one another but in honor of a very special man, CWA Local 1103 Chief Steward E. Gerald “Gerry” Horgan.
True to his nature, Gerry was a leader, fighting injustice and working for his union siblings.
Local 1103 will weigh all options including but not limited to filing a grievance contesting Article 55 and the farcical nature of a surplus condition when, at the same time, the company is hiring into the title and FAA and transferring employees into the title ad FAA.
Osmar Chavarria, a member of CWA Local 2108. Osmar was killed on the job in Maryland after coming into contact with high voltage wire.
As a loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, and valued member of the CWA community, Osmar's sudden and tragic death is deeply felt by his family, friends, and coworkers.
As CWA members, we fight to make our workplaces and communities better every day. With a richly diverse membership, we want to know about the issues that matter most to you. In this important election year, CWA is conducting a national survey of the membership to learn more about what your top priorities are!
Please fill out the very brief survey at cwa.
Memorial Day honors those who lost their lives while in service to the United States during peace and war. Memorial Day is not a celebration but a solemn day to reflect on veterans and military personnel who are deceased. Let's all take time out of our day and remember, freedom isn't free.
CWA's Local 1103 Executive Board stands with community groups, labor allies, and our elected officials to commemorate Workers Memorial Day.
Every day, people from all walks of life leave their homes and go to work to provide for themselves and their families. Too many workers do not come home at the end of the day.
Let's fight for safer workplaces every day.
