Over 1000 Patriotic Americans gathered in Mr. Kisco, NY on Saturday to protest and say #handsoff. CWA 1103 stood with our allies and spoke to Trump signing an executive order stripping collective bargaining and union rights from over one million workers across the federal government, and how we should all be deeply outraged.  It’s Union Busting and it’s disgusting! 

When he lays off thousands of workers, AMERICANS, people just like us, trying to pay their bills and feed their families, we must stand up and fight back. 

FACT- Trump has ordered massive cuts to the DOL. The administration has fired several pro-labor board members and appointed anti-union board members. All these cuts and layoffs at the DOL have ALREADY resulted in delays or dismissals of thousands of worker complaints. There are fewer people to enforce or investigate the complaints. If you don't know, this is the department that enforces the NLRA, under which most of our members have protections and have the ability to receive justice, if all else fails. It’s also where contract disputes and strike discipline i.e. unjust and illegal terminations can get resolved. It’s where average American workers looking to join a union can get justice, including lead workplace organizers who get fired by wealthy corporations and bosses illegally.    

So, yes, it may be inconvenient to be exposed to the TRUTH, and maybe you voted for the guy who is looking to eliminate unions and weaken our power, and that’s ok, but it seems pretty petty and unwise to criticize the union for fighting back against these attacks which we know will hurt our members.
