Brothers and Sisters,
Since mid-February, CWA Local 1103 has attempted to meet with Altice management to address concerns brought to us by you, our members, over the last few months. Unfortunately, the company hasn't been very responsive to the union's outreach.
It took longer than expected to schedule an initial meeting for March 19th. Then, on March 13th, the Company indicated that March 19th would no longer work and asked if the Union could meet on March 18th at 9:00 am. The union replied on March 14th that March 18th would work, but the proposed time would not. The union did not hear from the company until we reached out again on March 17th to confirm the March 18th meeting time but was told that the March 18th time did not work, and CWA was asked to provide additional dates, which we did.
CWA has not received any email correspondence in the last 10 days. There is no meeting scheduled at this time.
We completely understand why we have received so many complaints and concerns regarding Altice and its lack of leadership. Our own experience trying to schedule a simple meeting has been beyond frustrating. We will keep trying to secure a date and will update you on our progress. Your issues may not be important to Altice, but they are important to CWA, and we will do our best to address them for you soon.
Here are some of the concerns and questions we would like to address during our upcoming meeting.
Members have consistently complained that they feel they are on a rudderless ship. They don’t feel they are getting a true understanding from senior management on the company’s vision for the future. They do not feel the company’s culture is one of inclusion or employee recognition. There is a lack of communication between the union and the company. CWA is looking to improve the lines and open up more dialogue. To this point, it's pretty clear that Altice doesn't value the relationship in the way we had hoped.
If you have additional questions or concerns you would like addressed, please see your Steward or Chief Steward.
In solidarity,
CWA's Local 1103 Executive Board
