The weather forecast today and for the remaining week is that it will be dangerously cold with extreme winds, increasing your risk for frostbite or worse.  It is our position that if you receive outdoor work assignments during the dangerously cold weather, you have the right to seek temporary shelter at any point you feel your safety is in jeopardy or if you reasonably believe that you are at risk of serious injury or death from the cold.  You should notify management of any breaks taken and that the reason you are seeking shelter and warmth is because of the frigid and dangerous temperatures.  If you are harassed or disciplined by management in any way for seeking shelter from the cold, call your steward or chief steward immediately, who will then notify your Business Agent.  We are ready to assist anyone.  Please be careful and stay safe.
