CWA District 1/IBEW Local 2213 and IBEW New England Regional Bargaining Committees met today at the Rye Town Hilton in Rye, New York. The Union worked on proposals, reviewed information provided by the Company and continues to wait for more information that has been previously requested. There were no meetings with the Company today.

Tonight there was a scheduled Public Service Commission hearing in New York City to discuss the state of Telecommunications throughout NYS. Several members of the bargaining team attended the hearing. CWA told the PSC what is really going on at Verizon:

-Job Losses
-Deteriorating Service Quality and;
-Millions without FiOS!!!

While Verizon is failing to build out FiOS and maintain its copper network, at the Bargaining Table this Greedy Corporation is proposing to completely eliminate Job Security to slash thousands of Jobs.

That’s Unacceptable! We are not going to take it!
