The National Labor Relations Board is the only agency that enforces workplace rights for more than 80 million workers employed in the private sector. CWA 1103 had members who were fired by Verizon during a strike in violation of the National Labor Relations Act. Had we not been able to come to an agreement for those Members to return to work, the National Labor Relations Board would have been the final judge for our Members to reach redress. Yet what if that board did not exist or was rendered silent.
Today, US Senate Republicans are insisting on blocking nominations and preventing a vote to ensure we continue to have a fully functioning NLRB.
We can not allow this to happen.
Call Senator Schumer (1-888-966-9824) today and everyday till July 2, 2013 and tell Schumber:
"We deserve a fully functional NLRB with five members, demand a vote from the Senate today"
